Uphams Corner Main Streets hosts annual event on June 20

Uphams Corner Main Streets (UCMS) will host an annual fundraiser on Tues., June 20 from 6-8 p.m. at the Kroc Center at 650 Dudley St., Dorchester. The Innovation in Uphams Corner event raises money to support the Main Street’s district, but it’s also a chance for residents, volunteers, financial supporters and elected officials to celebrates success and add input into new development ideas.

The evening will include raffles, prizes, food catered by Dorchester-based Food Generation, with music provided by a jazz band featuring Berklee College of Music. The Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative will have a table set up to solicit input on the future use of the Citizens Bank building on Columbia Road.

Raffle prizes include Gift card for 3, massages at home or in office, by 4 Corners Yoga + Wellness and a gift basket and gift card from The Juice Box.
The keynote speaker is Julie Burros, Chief of Arts and Culture for the City of Boston. She will speak about the integration of arts and culture, and a speaking program will highlight the success stories and outlook for UCMS.

The UP Market vendors, made up of local artists and entrepreneurs, will be there to meet guests and sell professionally handmade products. A few participating entrepreneurs that will be in attendance are Inspired Creations by Concetta Johnson, Bird Street Glassblowing, District Element by Victoria Gabbidon, and Shez! Crafts by Sheila Springfield.
