An investigation by the Norfolk County medical examiner and the State Police is underway after the body of a 21-year-old woman was found in a wooded area along Central Avenue in Milton on Sunday morning (June 1).
The deceased has been identified as Adriana Suazo, who lived in Boston. The Norfolk County District Attorney’s office has told media that there were no “obvious signs of trauma” to her body, but a member of her family said they consider the death suspicious.
“She never come this area. She doesn’t have family here, nothing so I know somebody bring her here, and I want justice,” her aunt, Janelyn Diaz, told Boston 25 News.

A second man has died from wounds sustained in a double-shooting at 38 Franklin Hill Ave. in Dorchester that took place on the night of May 24. Anthony McIntosh, 66, of Dorchester, died on June 1, according to Boston Police. A 36-year-old man, Walter Wilkens, died on the day of the shooting, which took place around 9:45 p.m. and remains under active investigation, police say.

A federal jury last week convicted a now-former Transit Police sergeant on one count of aiding and abetting the filing of a false report as part of a coverup following the beating of a homeless man at Ashmont station by another Transit cop in 2018.
David Finnerty, 49, of Rutland, will be sentenced in August. The jury found that Finnerty helped fellow TPD officer Dorston Bartlett conceal the assault with a baton. Bartlett pled guilty to a reduced charge of just assault and battery and was sentenced to probation.

A New Hampshire man who preyed on women in the Mass. and Cass area — raping at least three victims in 2023— was sentenced to 28 to 34 years in state prison on Monday.
On May 16, a Suffolk Superior Court jury convicted Maxwell Newman, 25, on multiple counts of rape and assault.
Judge Debra Squires-Lee sentenced Newman after noting his “repeated acts of violence, deliberate targeting of vulnerable women, and degrading treatment,” the DA’s office reports. Prosecutors say Newman drove into the Mass. and Cass area at least three times in the spring of 2023 to rape women. After smashing one woman’s head to the ground and telling her to “pretend like you like it” as he raped her outside a Sunoco station around 1:30 a.m. on June 12, 2023, he returned to the area that night and persuaded another woman to get into his car. Newman drove her around Boston, then to his home in New Hampshire and then to a parking lot in Lawrence, where witnesses helped rescue her, leading to Newman’s arrest.
